Message from HR

Welcome to the start of another Open Enrollment Season! It is our pleasure to provide you with this website as a resource to manage your benefits at the District.

Here are a few benefit highlights and important reminders:

  • We encourage you to take some time to learn about your options. Everything you need to update, re-enroll, or change will be found on this Open Enrollment site.
  • Healthy Equity/Wage Works remains the District's Flexible Spending Account (FSA) provider. Remember that enrollment DOES NOT automatically carry over to 2023. If you want to enroll or re-enroll, you must complete the Wage Works enrollment form.
  • There will be several enhancements to the Anthem PPO and Anthem CDHP plans in 2023, including fertility and family building coverage, a comprehensive virtual physical therapy program for acute or chronic conditions, Oncology guidance through Carrum Health, and Breast cancer treatment bundles.
  • Kaiser members are now eligible for Ginger, a mental health and wellbeing app. This app offers educational content and 24/7 text-based coaching sessions with certified coaches.
  • Maintenance medications are subject to requirement to be obtained through mail order after two retail fills for Anthem PPO participants. Additionally retail alternatives for 90-day maintenance refills will be expanded.
  • Anthem PPO's mail order and specialty pharmacy benefit manager's name will change from MedImpact Direct to Birdi. Anthem HMO's mail order and specialty pharmacy benefit manager's name will change from IngenioRx to CarelonRx. You will notice a different name on mailed packages, but everything else remains the same. Your ID card is still valid, the phone numbers and website are the same, and existing refills are still on file.
  • The VSP vision plan has been enhanced to increase the frame allowance and include VSP Light Care.
  • All forms must be returned to HR by 5:00 p.m. on October 24.

2023 Benefits Checklist

Open Enrollment is a great time to review your existing benefit sections, evaluate any anticipated needs, learn more about the District benefit offerings, and make any adjustments for the upcoming plan year. To assist you in that, we've provided a handy checklist below.

STEP 1: Review Your Coverage
  • Your Individual Benefits Coverage Outline was mailed to your home on Thursday, October 6. If you didn't receive it, contact  Rosa.
  • View updated rates on the 2023 Insurance Premium Rate Sheet

STEP 2: Get Informed

STEP 3: Make Changes

  • Print forms to make changes (add/remove benefits, add/remove dependents, etc.)
    • Forms must be printed, signed, and returned to HR no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 24

No Changes?

If you do not need to make any enrollment changes, your current benefit election will remain the same, but at the 2023 rates (as shown on your Individual Insurance Benefits Outline). Also, if you wish to participate in a Flexible Spending Account, you must compete the WageWorks Enrollment Form.
